Ballard Park is not really a garden, it’s an old quarry in Newport, RI, that has been made into a park. They have this annual event where people set up creative displays that are lit mostly from the inside. They also project colored lights onto the rockface backdrop of the quarry. I went last night with a bunch of my sisters, and we had such a good time. None of our photos came out, so we borrowed these, taken by Daniel McManus.
Ballard park is home to live concerts too, and while I’ve never been to one, I hear the acoustics are awesome. You’re surrounded on two sides by sheer rock walls. It’s a cool thing to do with an old quarry.
This is really cool! Awesome post!
Aww…thanks!
